Our Company History

Matt-Mark Service Co., which is named for Steve Herring's two sons, Matt and Mark, is a Missouri Corporation. The company was chartered in 1987 and has built its reputation on rock-solid dependability.

About Our Owner, Steve

Steve is a licensed and Block/Experion-Certified Master Electrician with more than 40 years of experience in residential, commercial, and industrial electrical contracting. He brings the expertise to do the right job and friendly customer service!

A 1970 graduate of Maple Woods Community College and a 1973 graduate of the University of Missouri-Kansas City with a B.A. degree in Speech (radio-TV-film department), Steve spent several years in local radio broadcasting as an engineer, newsman, and disc jockey. This was before he served his apprenticeship with the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Union.

Completed projects have included new residential, commercial, and industrial construction wiring, extensive service upgrades for homes, apartments, warehouses, interior, and exterior lighting, fabricating custom switch panels for theaters and art galleries, and underground wiring.


Steve is also a PADI-certified Master Scuba Diver Trainer and Emergency First Response Instructor.
